Welcome to a new school year at Detroit Lakes High School!

As your new principal, I’m excited to join this incredible community and begin learning right alongside you. DLHS is a place built on strong values—where fairness, honesty, and support shape our culture. Here, we’re committed to creating a productive learning environment that helps every student maximize their potential. Whether you're exploring new subjects, earning credits toward graduation, or applying your learning in real-world settings, you’ll find opportunities to grow, challenge yourself, and prepare for life beyond high school.  For students—this is your time to discover what you’re good at, to ask for help when you need it, and to push yourself when things are going well. If you're struggling, we will work with you to develop a plan that supports your success. If you're thriving, we’ll find ways to deepen and enrich your learning. Keep showing up, keep trying, and don’t be afraid to take advantage of the many pathways DLHS offers. High school is more than just a place to earn credits—it’s a launching pad for your future.  For parents and guardians—we’re partners in your child’s journey.
