Join us in welcoming Jill Walter, the new principal of Detroit Lakes High School!

Principal Walter has most recently served as the Middle School Principal for East Grand Forks Public Schools. Originally from Perham, Minnesota, she is excited to return to the region and begin a new chapter serving the students, staff, and families of the Detroit Lakes community. 

We are excited to have Principal Walter's leadership at the high school and in the district.

DLHS Summer Office Hours:
 
The Main Office will be open from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm through June 5. Beginning June 9 and continuing through August 8, the office will be open on Wednesdays only, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm
 
The office will be closed on June 19th and the week of June 30th- July 4th


Counseling Center:

Counselors will be available on Wednesday mornings, starting June 11th, from 8:00 am - 12:00 pm.

The Intro to Foods class at DLHS participated in the Chopped Challenge! Students were challenged to use the required ingredients to prepare a creative entrée that was appealing to the eye, flavorful, and had a variety of colors and textures.

The winning dish was Lemon Peppered Chicken Alfredo, prepared by Brielle Amundson, Brody Ballard, Adrian Jones, and Carson Ohman!

On Wednesday, May 14th, DLPS held its annual Eagle Feather Ceremony. During this ceremony, American Indian high school students were given a feather to celebrate their accomplishment of completing high school, and a quilt representing warmth and protection as they move forward in life. The eagle feather will adorn our graduating students' caps & gowns at the graduation ceremony.
